The Echo of Life
A man and his son were walking in the forest. Suddenly, the boy trips and feeling a sharp pain, he screams, “Ahhhh!”
Surprised, he hears a voice coming from the mountain, “Ahhhh!” Filled with curiosity, he screams: “Who are you?”, but the only answer he receives is: “Who are you?”
This makes him angry, so he screams: “You are a coward!” and the voice answers: “You are a coward!”
He looks at his father, asking, “Dad, what is going on?”
“Son,” the man replies, “Pay attention!”
Then he screams, “I admire you!”
The voice answers: “I admire you!”
The father shouts, “You are wonderful!”, and the voice answers: “You are wonderful!”
Then the father explains, “People call this ‘ECHO’, but truly it is ‘LIFE’! Life always gives us back what we give out. Life is a mirror of our karma-s (actions).
“If we want more love, we should give more love!
“If we want more kindness, we should give more kindness!
“If we want understanding and respect, we should give understanding and respect!
“If we want more competence in our team, we should improve our own competence.
“If we want people to be patient and respectful to us, we should give patience and respect!
“This rule of nature applies to every aspect of our lives.”
Every result is preceded by an action and nowhere is a result seen accruing independently of action.
Life always gives us back what we give out.
Our life is not a coincidence, but a reflection of our own Karma-s (actions). All the karma-s that we perform will return to us in the same measure, to the same degree and intensity — whether positive or negative. As we sow, so we reap. The negatives that manifest in our lives today are the result of the negatives we have sown sometime in the past in our current life, or in some of our past lives. So if we want only positives in our lives in the future, we need to perform only positive karma-s from now onwards. Karma-s don’t mean action at the physical level only. It includes the quality of our speech, the quality of feelings and emotions entertained in the mind and the quality of thoughts predominant in our intellect.
Every moment we meet the results of our own karma-s.

Swamiji, a very big truth which we never no, or infact we never try to know, about what we give we get. That’s what Life always gives back what we give out.
