Spiritual Ways to be Successful in Life

Build a stronger spiritual life

Most of us would agree that focused pursuit of material objectives leads us to material success. But not many of us are aware that it is actually the spiritual pursuit of material objectives which makes us successful in every sense of the word. It’s really not all that hard to figure out why this is true. A spiritual person is actually a better person and nothing really stops a good person from becoming successful in any endeavour. Let’s explore reasons why spiritual people are more successful in life…

A deep spiritual connection

Remember, success starts with the individual. So, we need to strengthen our connection with our Source (call it God, Absolute Truth, Universal Consciousness or Spirit). It may be the most important step to knowing who we are in Reality – our essential nature. There is a huge difference between who we are in Reality and who we think we are. The root cause of all our problems is who we think we are. When we know who we are in Reality, we can be who we are. When we can be, who we are in Reality, we become fearless and then anything and everything becomes possible.

We view things differently

This is perhaps one of the main reasons why spiritual people are successful in life. Being spiritual enables us to view things differently. The generalised opinion of “The world is a mess” doesn’t hold good anymore. Our belief towards breeding a healthy society never gets defeated.

We are grateful

Start every day with a morning prayer of gratitude to God for the gift of a new day. Do this even if the day ahead appears ominous. Then, conclude every day with an evening prayer of gratitude to God for the gift of the preceding hours. Do this even if you’ve had a very tough day. Remember, it could have been worse.

A positive mind-set

Spiritual people often adopt a positive mind-set. Optimism takes us a long way in life. If we are spiritual, optimism comes as a by-product. Adopting a positive mind-set always helps us attract the right vibes.

We take full ownership of who we are

Taking ownership means not making excuses, not blaming others and not using our past or circumstances as reasons why we can’t be successful. Taking ownership and being responsible for what we think, what we say, and what we do is crucial to truly being successful.

The right focus in life

Meditation is a key component of spirituality. One of the ways to be spiritual and successful is by allowing ourselves to focus effectively on the things we wish to do.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea. Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced .”

— Sw. Vivekananda

Being a conscious creator

To be a conscious creator of our world means performing committed action. It means we are awake in our lives, aware of our purpose, have a vision and are willing to do whatever it takes to have the life we want.

Restore someone’s faith

A spiritual person makes time to heal a wounded heart, to extend kindness to someone who really needs a friend, to help gather up the pieces of a broken dream. They radiate God’s unconditional love.

An inclination to help others

Another important element of spirituality is the attitude of helping others. Helping others automatically helps us to get liked and attract positivity into our lives.

Being reliable

Doing what we say we will do – whether it’s convenient or notfollowing through on our commitments, large or small, shows others we are the ones who can be trusted and counted upon.

Exercising our power of choice

No matter what happens to us, we always have the freedom to choose. We can select joy over despair. We can select love over hate. We can select forgiveness over revenge. We can select growth over stagnation. Remember, a crisis can evoke the best in us or the worst in us.

The choice is ours!

I feel these points constitute the very essence of how to lead a purposeful, fearless, constructive life.We must go through it regularly and repeatedly to remind ourselves of these.
